Confident Connection

I have heard many people talk about how difficult it is to hear God. I have often thought the same thing and still experience what feels like difficulty in hearing sometimes, but there is one thing that has completely changed that experience for me.

Confidence in my connection with God has transformed the way I think about hearing God. I used to think I was somehow separate from God and that I had to try hard in some way to get His attention. I realized the Bible actually points to a much different relationship. It says we are in Christ and He is in us. There is no separation from God. When I chose to trust that and believe it, everything shifted. I realized He is speaking to me all the time. I have just taken credit for God’s voice, and luckily He hasn’t cared! 

Trusting in the reality that God speaks and that we are fully connected, 100% of the time, alters the way you hear. You start to realize God is always speaking, and you can always hear Him. At ONE, we remind people that He uses the way you think to communicate to you. That could be in pictures or movies in your mind, or even by seeing words in your mind. He can speak audibly to you, but He often speaks how you already think.

I was able to set aside my fear and trust what ONE has taught me over the years, and once I did, my conversations with God exploded. The simplicity of it makes it seem too easy, but that’s exactly what a good Father would want for His children. God, as a good dad, would want it to be easy to talk to Him. So it is. It just takes a little faith and trust that these truths are a reality, and you will hear Him. The more you do it, the more your confident connection will grow.
