Jesus Is Faster Than You Are

Jesus is faster than you are. 

You might think it takes a lot of time to hear God, but the opposite is true. He’s speaking all the time and you can hear from Him right now.

Let’s practice! In just a moment you’re going to ask Jesus a question. It’s crucial to be honest about the very FIRST thing that comes to your mind after you ask. Hold onto it somehow. Express it out loud or write it down. But don’t dismiss it. 

Pray: Jesus, quiet every voice other than yours. 

Ask: Jesus, am I a child of God? 

What came to your mind first and fast?

Let’s do it again. Remember, God is the faithful ONE who answers so the pressure is off of you. Notice what you feel, sense, think..

Ask: Jesus, am I God’s child? 

Now, stay in the dialogue with Jesus (or God, or Holy Spirit, whichever is more comfortable) and “check” what came to you. 

Ask: Jesus, here’s what I got: _________ . Is that really You speaking to me?  

If you sense a “no” simply ask: OK, then what are YOU saying, Jesus, from your heart to mine? Capture what comes right after that. What if you got nothing? Just take that to Him: Jesus, I got nothing, but what do you want me to know? Then snag the next thought.  

Jesus will show up. He always does. It’s who He is. And you were made to hear Him.
